Abstract

The term atopy originates from the Greek world “ atopos”, which means “ out of place”, and the disease was first described as “ atopic dermatitis” in 1923 by Cooke and Coca to indicate the concomitant occurrence of IgE- mediated hypersensitivity reactions.(1, 2)
