Abstract

Medical professionals are often required to be present at hospitals and emergency facilities on an intermittent basis. However, it is not feasible for every physician to be available at all locations at the required times. One drawback of video conferencing is that it typically necessitates a desktop or laptop setup, which limits a doctor's capacity to engage with patients or move freely within an operating room or hospital setting. To overcome this challenge, we have created a virtual doctor robot that allows physicians to navigate remotely and interact with individuals in distant locations as necessary. This innovative robot offers numerous benefits for healthcare providers: it allows doctors to be present anywhere at any time, facilitates movement within operating theaters, enables easy interaction with patients, permits remote viewing of medical reports through video calls, and allows for unrestricted movement in various hospital rooms. The system is built on a four-wheel drive robotic vehicle for enhanced maneuverability. Additionally, it features a controller box for circuitry and a mount for a mobile phone or tablet, which is utilized for live video communication. Physicians can control the robot through an IoT-based panel, with commands transmitted online to the robot's controller. This controller operates via Wi-Fi, ensuring that commands are executed in real time, allowing the robot's motors to respond to the desired movement instructions.
