Background: Diabetes mellitus (DM) is a chronic metabolic disease that necessitates continuous monitoring and proper glucose control to avoid complications. Body Mass Index (BMI) is a widely used measure of obesity that has been linked to insulin resistance and poor metabolic outcomes. Hemoglobin A1c (HbA1c) is an important biomarker that evaluates the average blood glucose levels over the last two to three months.

Objective: The purpose of this study was to characterize the association between diabetic patients' BMI and HbA1c levels.

Methods: The study design is descriptive cross-sectional. Descriptive and correlational statistics were used for collecting and analyzing data on BMI and HbA1c levels.

Results: Elevated HbA1c levels were linked to higher BMI categories.
Conclusion: It seems that being overweight is linked to worse glycemic control.
