Gynecological Infantilism: Causes, Treatment, Complications and Consequences

This article provides a comprehensive analysis of the etiology, pathogenesis, clinical manifestations, treatment methods, prevention strategies, complications, and long-term consequences of gynecological infantilism. The study was conducted using clinical-analytical and descriptive methodologies and involved the assessment of medical histories, hormonal profiles, ultrasound findings, and laboratory test results of women of reproductive age diagnosed with gynecological infantilism.

The results indicate that dysfunction of the hypothalamic–pituitary–ovarian axis, endocrine disorders, hereditary factors, childhood infectious diseases, and inadequate nutrition play a significant role in the development of this condition. Clinically, menstrual cycle disorders, reduced reproductive function, and infertility were identified as the leading manifestations.

It was demonstrated that a comprehensive treatment approach—including hormonal therapy, vitamin and mineral supplementation, and physiotherapy—leads to the restoration of the menstrual cycle and improvement of reproductive organ function. The findings highlight the importance of early diagnosis and strengthened preventive measures in preserving women’s reproductive health.
