Candidal vulvovaginitis is one of the most common reasons women seek medical care. Its incidence has nearly doubled over the past 10 years and accounts for 30–45% of infectious lesions of the vulva and vagina. The causative agents of candidal vulvovaginitis are yeast-like fungi of the genus Candida [1,2].
