Anti-inflammatory drugs, particularly NSAIDs, are widely used for pain and inflammation management but can cause significant gastric injury. This study investigates the structural and morphometric changes in the gastric mucosa of adult female outbred rats following anti-inflammatory drug exposure. Histological analysis revealed epithelial disruption, mucosal thinning, subepithelial edema, and inflammatory cell infiltration. Morphometric evaluation confirmed reduced mucosal thickness and altered glandular architecture, indicating compromised mucosal integrity. These findings highlight the clinical relevance of monitoring gastric health during anti-inflammatory therapy and underscore the need for gastroprotective strategies to prevent drug-induced gastric damage.
